Did helping granny set up that Netflix account cause you to be late to your friend’s big On Air Hangout? What would’ve been a calamity last week is but a minor hitch now. Earlier today, Google updated its live video streaming service with a new set of “highly requested” features. In addition to restarting a broadcast at will, recordings are now available on YouTube immediately after an On Air Hangout ends. As for you hams, video quality has been improved for mobile devices, so you’ll look your absolute best no matter which screen your adoring public is watching you from. As a caveat, Google notes that you may experience some delays when setting up a broadcast, but it feels like a small price to pay given the upsides

Google’s been adding a lot of features lately to get us to Hangout, from providing digital moustaches to scheduling virtual soirees. Now, the company’s aiming to get folks video conferencing from their inbox. That’s right, you can now start a Hangout with up to nine friends or colleagues straight from Gmail with a click of a button. Users can expect better quality as compared to Gmail’s old peer-to-peer video chats, and it provides access to people with an Android or iOS device and those on Google+ in a web browser. The new feature has already started making its way to users, and the rollout will continue over the next few weeks. Still not ready to mix your Hangouts with email just yet? The Dallas Cowboys Are Letting Fans Conduct Their Own Press Conferences Via Google+ Hangout

DeMarcus Ware and the Dallas Cowboys are changing the game, and it goes well beyond the football field, where he leads the NFL with 15 sacks.
The Cowboys linebacker is one of – if not the – first athlete on a professional team to hold a Google+ Hangout with his fans.
In case you’re unaware, the hangout is basically a group video chat for up to 10 people.
The Cowboys star and his fans took part in an intimate question and answer session, giving people an opportunity to speak directly with Ware.
It’s definitely a novel idea in this lockout age for fans feeling disconnected from the athletes they follow.
Hopefully other organizations will take note and take advantage of this opportunity.
