Facebook Sponsored Posts Results are SOOOO Low

Facebook does not report actual views, just a relative percentage of paid versus regular views because the actual views are SO low, it’s embarrassing.

This also applies to big huge brands like @burberry too. Just because they have 14 million fans doesn’t mean all of them will see a particular post. In fact, if you consider the number of DAILY active users who actually go on Facebook, and then the percent of those who actually go on Burberry’s page and then the percent of those who actually caught a glimpse of a particular post, you can understand these are truly small numbers.
But, good for Facebook, they booked $7 of Promoted Post revenue from my credit card for whatever little actual number of views they actually sent to my post.
BUYER BEWARE

NOW THIS IS CERTAINLY CURIOUS.  The result of the sponsored post is identical to the sponsored post screen shot from a prior sponsored post. Hmmmm.

Lovely Offers Photo-Based Apartment Search Results for Quickly Identifying an Awesome New PadCraigslist’s apartment search still sucks, but thankfully there are third-party developers out there making it better (even if Craigslist doesn’t like it). Previously mentioned Lovely is dedicated to making the apartment finding process easier, and this weekend they built a new search tool to help you find a great place with photo-based search results.

All you need to do is choose a city and a neighborhood to get started. From there you can narrow down your options by choosing the number of bedrooms you want in your apartment and a price range. As you make your selections, Lovely will provide you with a grid of photos depicting the various apartments available to you. From there you can click on anything appealing for more information and view the entire listing if you choose. While browsing on a map is great, sometimes you just want to pick the places that look the best before you worry too much about the exact location. Lovely’s new tool helps you do just that.

The Most Remarkable Instagram Chart You’ll See

Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-of-the-day-increase-in-downloads-and-twitter-shares-2012-4

This chart plots both how many times Instagram has been downloaded, in gray, and how often it has been used to share photos over Twitter, in red.

Look at how, moving left to right, the red bars extend away from the gray bars.

Know what that means?

It means, in the words of the Distimo analyst who put together the chart, that “the average number of shares per users are increasing.”

That’s profound: The app isn’t just getting more popular, it is becoming a more important part of its users’ lives.

This Chart Tells You Everything You Need To Know About LeBron James

Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/lebron-james-mvp-2012-4

BuzzFeed just tweeted this chart comparing all NBA players based on their Player Efficiency Ratings (PER) stacked against minutes played per game.

According to Basketball Reference, “The PER sums up all a player’s positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments, and returns a per-minute rating of a player’s performance.”

It’s basically a number that tells you how good a player is.

As you can see, LeBron James is on another planet (via BuzzFeed Sports).

For Advertisers And Investors, Social Network User Numbers Often Don’t Add Up

Source: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/can_advertisers_and_investors_trust_social_network.php

When does 845 million not equal 845 million?

When it’s the number of active users Facebook claims in its initial public offering filing. Last week the social networking giant amended that filing and conceded it may not be so giant. While still massive, Facebook said as many as 6% of those accounts may be fakes and another 5% may be from people who downloaded Facebook’s mobile app and have it running in the background of their device even though they no longer use the site.
