We have seen hundreds of fans crash major sporting events. But this might be the first time that a fan jumped in front of the cameras during a trophy presentation and started making sounds like a bird call before being ushered away by security.

Here is the video (via NBC Sports) and the subsequent zingers from both US Open champion Webb Simpson and Bob Costas…

Save Money On SodaStream Refills With a Hacked Paintball Canister [Video]

Source: http://gizmodo.com/5893653/sodamod-save-money-on-sodastream-refills-with-a-hacked-paintball-canister

One of the main reasons people love the SodaStream is that you save money by making your own sparkling water. Supposedly. Unfortunately, replacing those CO2 canisters is expensive. This clever hack will help you cut those costs by a huge margin.

The owner of Critical Paintball came up with SodaMod, which is a custom valve that turns the refillable CO2 canisters used to power paintball guns into the firepower in your countertop fizzy water fountain. As the video points out, SodaStream canisters use a proprietary one-way valve with non-standard threading so they’re impossible to refill without SodaStream’s help. Sending back two 14.5-ounce Carbinators for replacement costs $60. Outrageous! The cost adds up after a while and cuts into the money you’d otherwise be saving with your SodaStream.

SodaMod: Save Money On SodaStream Refills With a Hacked Paintball CanisterBy contrast, at your local sporting goods store a CO2 canister refill costs about three bucks. So it’s easy to see that cost of a $60 SodaMod plus a $15 CO2 tank pays for itself in no time. The SodaMod requires a some basic installation, but it’s certainly worth your effort. [SodaModThanks, Edgar!]

The Super Bowl Is More Important Than Just About Anything To Americans

The Super Bowl is really important to Americans.

The year’s most highly-anticipated sporting event is so important, in fact, that 15 percent of adults would miss the birth of their own child to attend a Super Bowl game featuring their favorite NFL team, according to a recent survey by CouponCabin.com (via The Week).

Apparently funerals and weddings also become back-burner commitments when Super Bowl Sunday rolls around: Nineteen percent of participants said they would miss the funeral of a loved one to watch their team play and 20 percent said they would miss the wedding of a close family member.

Guy Wins $1,000,000 For Pitching A Perfect Game…In A Videogame

Source: http://gizmodo.com/5532088/guy-wins-1000000-for-pitching-a-perfect-gamein-a-videogame

Guy Wins src=The folks at 2K Sports offered $1 million to the first person to pitch a perfect game in Major League Baseball 2K10—a supposedly difficult task. 24 hours after the game was released, they had to write a check.

Using Braves pitcher Kenshin Kawakami as his avatar, 24-year-old Alabama resident Wade McGilberry was able to complete his million dollar game in less than 90 minutes after returning home from work.

Great news for Wade because he recorded his attempts according to 2K Sports’ rules, but not so great news for them because as “insurance companies couldn’t possibly come up with the odds of throwing a perfect game, 2K Sports didn’t take out insurance and now will pay McGilberry a lump sum of $1 million out of its own pocket.” Oops.
